In Lombardy, the measure known as “Accanto” has been introduced, a parental support initiative aimed at separated, divorced, and widowed parents facing socioeconomic difficulties. Approved by the regional government on December 16, 2024, this initiative offers financial assistance ranging from €1,500 to €2,500, based on the ISEE submitted. The Councillor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability, and Equal Opportunities, Elena Lucchini, emphasized the importance of an integrated approach to support parents in redefining their roles and ensuring the harmonious growth of minors through the Family Centers present in the area.
The measure also includes the recognition of a contribution for widows and widowers, a category previously excluded from similar regional interventions. This support can cover expenses related to health, education, and housing, with the aim of alleviating the economic difficulties arising from complex family situations. A total of €1,500,000 has been allocated for the implementation of this measure, enabling concrete assistance to those in greatest need during this delicate time in their lives.
