Nietzsche Centenary Conference Highlights on Garda and Wagner Relationship
The second and third acts of the study conference for the centenary of Nietzsche will take place on Friday, the 30th, at the Casinò. At 6 PM, Professor Paolo Boccafoglio will present in the council chamber «Azure Lake of Garda» by Karl von Heigel: the first Italian translation of four short novels by the court poet of Federico II, dedicated to Arco, Torbole, Riva and Sirmione.
The texts in German are preserved in the very rich ancient collection of the Biblioteca arcense, in whose «Quaderni» the publication appears. In the evening, at 9 PM, Massimo Biasioni, introduced by Franco Ballardini (both teachers at the Conservatorio Bonporti), will present «Nietzsche contra Wagner», with actor Ernesto Goio: an electronic elaboration of 45 minutes with a recitative voice of the same-named work on the deep and controversial relationship between the philosopher and the composer.
Perspectives on the relationship between Nietzsche and Wagner
Wagner, written in 1888, is his last work before madness definitively clouded Nietzsche‘s intellectual capacities: an ultimate passage, a sort of tragic farewell to life and to the exercise of conscious thought.
The road leading to the international conference scheduled for April 6 and 7 at the hotel du Lac began with the presentation by the author, Graziano Riccadonna, of the issue «Nietzsche and his shadow», published by Sommolago.
The work investigates Nietzsche’s stay in Riva, between February and March 1880, when, after abandoning university teaching in Basel, the philosopher began his new life as a wanderer and vagrant, marked by the recurring shadow, a metaphor for illness and a different life, outside or above, the «morality».
