Night rescue on Pizzocolo: three hikers in difficulty
Three individuals were rescued last night, September 6th, on Mount Pizzocolo, at an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters, in the municipality of Toscolano Maderno. The alert was raised around 9:00 PM when the technicians from the Valle Sabbia Station and the V Brescia Delegation of the Cnsas – National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps were activated to intervene on a steep slope of the mountain. The three individuals in distress were lost among the ridges; one was situated higher up, while the other two were at a lower elevation.
The rescue operation involved three alpine rescue technicians and the firefighters from the Salò station. Despite the challenges faced during the intervention, the rescuers managed to reach and secure the individuals, bringing them back to the trail by 1:00 AM. At the conclusion of the operation, the importance of proper equipment and the selection of routes suitable for one’s abilities was emphasized to ensure safety during hikes.
