Over 150 olive producers gathered yesterday in Arco for the Technical Olive Growing Day, focusing on the 2025 harvest outlook and sustainable pest management strategies for 2026, particularly targeting the olive fly. The event was held at the Oratorio Auditorium and streamed live on the Edmund Mach Foundation’s YouTube channel.
Key discussions included integrated pest control methods such as mineral powders, trap-based fly management, and organic practices. Experts presented research on biological control, predictive modeling, and nutritional monitoring, emphasizing preventative, collective, and timely approaches for pest and disease management in olive cultivation.
