Olive Growing in Salò: Conference for the Future of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
On Thursday, October 2nd at 9:30 AM, Salò will host a conference titled “The Value of Hill Olive Growing: From Tradition to the Future,” organized by Confagricoltura Brescia and Confagricoltura Veneto. The event will take place in the Sala dei Provveditori at the town hall and aims to support the production of extra virgin olive oil in hilly areas, a crucial resource for the economy of the Garda and Sebino regions. The conference will address the importance of protecting olive crops, highlighting the needs of Brescia’s olive growers in light of the National Olive Growing Plan. The president of Confagricoltura Brescia, Giovanni Garbelli, will open the proceedings alongside the mayor of Salò, Francesco Cagnini. Among the speakers will be representatives from producer associations and university researchers who will contribute insights on the topic of olive cultivation in northern Italy. The necessity of integrating southern production with traditional northern practices will be emphasized, focusing on innovative technologies to enhance olive cultivation efficiency and thus ensure a prosperous future for local olive growing.
