The fourth edition of the online series “Custodi di Bellezza – Stories from contemporary sacred art museums” will soon begin, involving three new cultural institutions: the Diocesan Museum of Caltagirone, the School of Sacred Art in Florence, and the Museum Center of Castronuovo Sant’Andrea (PZ).

The first event will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 8:30 PM and will feature the Diocesan Museum of Caltagirone. The museum, interested in the mystery of the Incarnation as a privileged place of communication between God and man, has dedicated a collection to contemporary sacred art, which is part of the permanent exhibition. Don Fabio Raimondi, the museum’s director, will be speaking.

The second meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 2023, at 8:30 PM, will be dedicated to the School of Sacred Art in Florence, presented by its director, Lucia Tanti. The school is an international meeting point for creativity in art and artistic craftsmanship related to the sacred. It is a space where students, teachers, artists, and artisans can meet and engage in dialogue.

The third and final stop of the series will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 8:30 PM and will feature the Museum Center of Castronuovo Sant’Andrea (PZ), presented by Giuseppe Appella. The director will provide an in-depth exploration of this institution, which includes the “Alessandro Appella” Municipal Library, the MIG International Graphics Museum, the “Guido Strazza” Museum-Atelier for intaglio, the “Kengiro Azuma” Museum-Atelier for lithography, the “Vanni Scheiwiller” International Nativity Scene Museum, and the Museum of the Life and Works of Sant’Andrea Avellino.

The online meetings are free of charge until seats are filled and will be held on the Google Meet platform. This is an opportunity to get to know these cultural institutions up close and discover the wonders of contemporary sacred art.
