The President of the Municipal Council of Desenzano del Garda, Paolo Abate, has called for an extraordinary session in open mode, scheduled for December 10 at the Sala Pelèr of Palazzo Todeschini. The central theme will be the future of the local hospital, a matter that has been igniting public and political debate. This decision follows a request made by the minority parties on September 27, emphasizing the need to encourage broad citizen participation.
The open assembly will allow representatives from various entities, associations, healthcare unions, political parties, affiliated organizations, and other interested parties to speak, provided they submit a request by 12:00 PM on November 28. The Conference of Group Leaders will review the requests to determine who will have the right to speak during the session.
**The Three Proposals for the Desenzano Hospital**
The debate revolves around three possible solutions presented by the Welfare Councillor of the Lombardy Region, Guido Bertolaso, during a meeting at the Teatro Alberti on September 17:
1. **Structural Reinforcement with Exoskeleton**: This option involves a temporary closure of the hospital for a period of 4 years, with an investment of 140 million euros.
2. **Renovation by Lots**: This entails gradual interventions at a cost of 160-165 million euros, to be completed over 10 years, while maintaining operations through a support structure.
3. **Construction of a New Hospital**: This plan involves building a new facility on land owned by ASST del Garda, with an estimated expenditure of 140 million euros and a timeline of 4 years.
These solutions present advantages and challenges that will be explored further during the municipal council meeting, providing an important opportunity to gather opinions and proposals directly from the community and stakeholders.
