Opera Stars and Orchestra Concert at Vittoriale for Tumor Research

At the Vittoriale in Gardone Riviera, a concert featuring opera stars will take place at 9:15 PM to benefit the Garda Association for the Study and Prevention of Tumors.

The evening will feature the renowned Icelandic tenor Kristjan Johannsson, French soprano Danielle Streiff, and baritone Antonio Salvadori, who was recently applauded in Verdi’s “La forza del destino” at Piazza Loggia alongside Johannsson.

The three singers will be accompanied by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra of Volgograd, which already achieved considerable success, again at the Vittoriale, on July 13 in a concert dedicated to Tchaikovsky. Leading the Philharmonic is Edvard Serov, winner of the Von Karajan award.

Repertoire and Program

The program includes an anthology of well-known opera arias, primarily from Verdi’s and Puccini’s repertoires. Among the pieces performed will be “E lucean le stelle” and “Vissi d’arte” from “Tosca,” the “Prologue” from “Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo, “Il lamento di Federico” from Cilea’s “Arlesiana,” “L’Improvviso” from Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier,” “Un bel dì vedremo” from “Madama Butterfly,” the timeless “Nessun dorma” from “Turandot,” and numerous pieces from “La Traviata.”

Entitled evocatively as “… And the stars shine,” the concert is part of numerous initiatives promoted by the Garda Association, chaired by Dr. Ambrogio Colombo, aimed at raising awareness among the population and collecting funds for the study, research, and prevention of tumors.

Tickets (60,000 for the orchestra section, 30,000 for the balcony) are available at the Vittoriale box office (+39 0365/296519).
