On the weekend of October 14 and 15, Monte Baldo hosted the 2 Days Lake Garda, an orienteering competition that attracted 1,400 athletes from 14 countries. The races took place between the municipalities of Brenzone sul Garda and San Zeno di Montagna, featuring middle and long distances that tested the strategic skills of the orienteers, who were challenged to follow the marked route on the map and use their compasses to reach the control points. The winners of the middle distance were Roberto Dallavalle and Anna Pradel, while Francesco Mariani and Maddalena De Biasi triumphed in the long distance category.
The event, organized in collaboration with FISO – the Italian Orienteering Federation and various local entities, helped to strengthen the region’s image as a destination for sport tourism, promoting orienteering as a growing discipline. Gabriele Viale, the event manager, emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing the appeal of Monte Baldo through a mapping area that offers unique opportunities for orienteering enthusiasts.
