Recently, renovation work on the auditorium in the cursed square of Padenghe has commenced to address the issue of water infiltration that has plagued the structure since its inauguration in May 2019. This project, which involves an investment of 160,000 euros funded by the municipality, includes the replacement of the waterproof membrane and the restoration of the grass surface. Despite the auditorium having been open to the public only twice in six years, Mayor Albino Zuliani has stated that further work will be necessary to restore the interiors damaged by humidity and to complete the unfinished sewage works.
The square, previously known as “Red Square,” has undergone various renovations and was inaugurated in 2016, with total costs exceeding 2.8 million euros. However, its construction has raised numerous technical and legal issues, prompting the municipal administration to initiate investigations into the responsibilities of the companies involved in the work. With the start of the new renovations, the mayor expresses a certain bitterness over the challenges faced and hopes that this time the square can finally be completed properly.
