Padenghe History Book Launch Highlights Town’s Rich Past and Culture
The book “Padenghe sul Garda – at the roots of a community” written by Andrea Nodari will be officially presented on Friday evening (December 22nd), at 8:30 PM, in the council chamber of the Comune di Padenghe.
Content and purpose of the book
A particularly interesting volume because it recounts the history of this town, rich in ancient traditions and culture. “This book – writes Mayor Giancarlo Allegri in his introduction – offers all my fellow citizens a journey through time, into our past, to the origins of our land and culture.
It is a duty for the Municipal Administration to promote and participate in initiatives like this, which allow us to learn, expand our knowledge, but most importantly, keep our identity alive. The information collected in this text, concerning various settlements, sites, monuments, events, and figures related to Padenghe and its community, comes from historical sources and recent accounts, gathered with dedication and effort by Prof. Andrea Nodari, a teacher at our State Middle School and a resident of Padenghe.

Also, Lucio Vezzola, deputy vice president of the BCC del Garda, which, alongside the Comune di Padenghe, supported the financial effort of this project, reaffirmed that “after years of doubts and uncertainties, our town finally has its history, it has rediscovered its memory, thanks to the work, dedication, and passion of Prof. Nodari.”
Like all important stories, this one explores various fields: from economy to art, from social aspects to cultural ones, in a clear and very effective synthesis. In the book – Lucio Vezzola continues – a chapter is dedicated to the Cassa Rurale ed Artigianale di Padenghe, from its founding to today, recalling the men who created it, the journey taken, the most significant milestones achieved, the social commitment made, and the testimony of solidarity given to the weaker classes and local institutions.
Tribute and book distribution
The book will be gifted and distributed in the coming days to all families of the municipality as a Christmas gift for this year 2000 from the Municipal Administration.
