Palarigotti Roof Tent Installation Advances Ahead of Finals
There were many curious onlookers gathered yesterday morning along via S. Caterina and in the Penny Market parking lot, watching the slow progress of three massive crane trucks involved in the elaborate setup maneuvers for the new roof tent of Palarigotti. After several hours of work, the tarp, wrapped in a giant sausage-like form, was hoisted above the structure.
Today it will be unrolled and anchored to the ground. Moving in sync, almost in symbiosis, the three cranes from Santoni Tullio di Ceniga, Succetti di Roncone, and Cirè di Pergine first lifted the heavy bundle from the ground and then, all in unison, deposited it at the top of the metal framework made up of nine steel arches.
The operations will continue this morning. The tarpaulin will then be unrolled along the trusses and fastened to the ground at the numerous hooks positioned on a reinforced concrete curb.
Final phases and finishing works
Once the tent is set up, craft companies will proceed to install all internal systems, including lighting, heating (to be completed), bleachers, parquet flooring, and other elements.
“By the end of the month, the systems will be in place,” explains Riva’s public works councilor Pietro Matteotti. “Then, the flooring will be laid and polished. The company has informed us that it will definitely finish by the 14th, but there are doubts about whether it will be ready for the home game against Garda Cartiere on that day.”
“We’re optimistic: if we manage to complete the work just in time for a training session and the opening game at home, we’ll be happy. But immediately after, we must turn our attention to the final stadium design. The mayor and I are not giving up on this,” he added.
“By the 14th, we will deliver a ready-to-use parquet floor,” explains the designer Giancarlo Tonelli. “We have given assurances to President Santi in this regard.”
