Palestine Conflict: Italian Party Calls for UN and Government Action
Malossini and Andreozzi, accompanied by a delegation from the Polenta and Mortadella committee, have just traveled to Palestine, as messengers of a peace that does not exist (and there is also a question about who paid for the trip).
Perhaps also because of this shared memory, the Palestine issue is particularly felt within the ranks of the Margherita party, which has submitted to the city council a motion stating that “faced with the overwhelming list of Palestinian dead and wounded and the escalation of clashes throughout the country that continues to claim innocent young victims, in line with the thousands of Italians who participated in the week for peace in Palestine, aware of the climate of distrust and frustration that has long reigned among Palestinians after nine years of negotiations and unmet agreements that have failed to stop human rights violations and improve their living conditions; it denounces the risk that the escalation of violence could lead to a new, widespread, and uncontrollable war, reaffirms its support for all peace forces, including those in Israel, who are determined to work towards ending this tragic conflict,” and calls for concrete interventions from the UN and the Government.
