Paolo VI Collection: Workshops, Exhibitions, and Must-See Initiatives

The Polo Museale of Castronuovo Sant’Andrea will be the focus of the “Custodians of Beauty” series, which tells the stories of some contemporary sacred art museums. The presentation of the Polo Museale will take place on Thursday, May 2nd at 8:30 pm and will be curated by Giuseppe Appella, the Director of the institution. The Polo Museale includes the Municipal Library “Alessandro Appella,” the MIG. International Museum of Graphics, the “Guido Strazza” Museum-Atelier for printmaking, the “Kengiro Azuma” Museum-Atelier for lithography, the International Nativity Scene Museum “Vanni Scheiwiller,” and the Museum of Life and Works of Sant’Andrea Avellino.

Participation in the online meetings will be possible after registering via email, with instructions provided on how to participate.

On Saturday, May 4th, the “Planet Festival” will be held at the Paolo VI Collection. The event includes workshops for children and teenagers from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The workshops will be divided by age: “In the Roots of a Tree” for children aged 6 to 8, “Planet Earth” for children aged 8 to 10, and “Science.Lab: Water” for teenagers aged 11 to 14. Participation is free, but reservations are required.

Also on Saturday, May 4th, at 4:30 pm, there will be a lecture-cineforum on the films of the Coen brothers. The meeting will be curated by Matteo Asti, a film historian and professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the SantaGiulia Academy in Brescia. Participation is free.

Furthermore, every Saturday until June 15, 2024, at 5:30 pm, it will be possible to visit the exhibitions at the Paolo VI Collection for free. In particular, it will be possible to participate in free guided tours of the exhibition “Sara Munari. Lapilli,” winner of the “Paolo VI Prize for Contemporary Art.” Museum admission and the guided tour of the exhibition cost €2.50 per person.
