Paragliding Accident Near Malcesine Kills 61-Year-Old Man on Monte Baldo
A paragliding accident on Monte Baldo near Malcesine caused the death of a 61-year-old German man on Monday, July 13, around 5:00 p.m. Rescue teams from SUEM 118 responded with a helicopter and an ambulance, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The incident is the third fatal paragliding accident recorded in the area in just over a month and a half. On June 23, a 37-year-old Swiss man died, and on June 1 another German citizen, 48, lost his life; in both earlier cases, the pilots crashed shortly after takeoff from the Tratto Spino area.
