Phone Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
