The Mountain Community of Valle Sabbia has announced the opening of the photographic exhibition “IL CHIESE – Imagining the Soul of the River”, which will take place at the former Hydroelectric Power Station in Barghe from September 13 to November 2, 2025. This exhibition, created by photographers Pino Mongiello and Salvatore Attanasio, features sixty-three unpublished images that depict the course of the Chiese River from its source in the Adamello to its confluence with the Oglio. The event aims to celebrate the connection between humans and the river, utilizing a historic building that symbolizes this relationship to enhance the local area and raise awareness about environmental protection. The setup includes an exhibition pathway enriched with interpretative notes and a 132-page catalog featuring contributions from various authors. During the exhibition, visitors will be able to explore the different phases of the Chiese’s journey through photographs that provide a poetic and philosophical view of river life. The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:30 AM, and admission will be free on weekends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Italian Version
