GARGNANO: 70-YEAR-OLD POACHER DISCOVERED AND REPORTED IN MALGA NANGUI An operation conducted by the Provincial Police revealed a significant case of poaching in the Alto Garda Bresciano Park on Thursday, August 21. Officers from the Vestone detachment discovered a metal trap in the Gargnano area, specifically at Malga Nangui, set with bait to attract wild animals. After initiating surveillance, the agents observed a man who had arrived at the location to manipulate the trap.
The individual, a seventy-year-old from Calvisano, was stopped and identified while attempting to capture wildlife. During the inspection, it was found that he was in possession of a hunting rifle with ammunition and slaughtering tools, without having a valid hunting license. As a result, charges were filed for illegal possession of a firearm and the use of prohibited hunting methods. Additionally, a 64-year-old resident of Gargnano was implicated, accused of providing the trap to the poacher; he too was reported for complicity in the offenses. All materials found, including the weapon and slaughtering equipment, were seized and handed over to the Judicial Authority.
