Polizia di Stato Swears in New Officers at Peschiera Academy

Yesterday, at the Polizia di Stato school, the solemn swearing-in of the auxiliary officers detained took place. At the 51st course, which began in November 2000, 185 trainees participated, and, at their own request, the course was dedicated to Paolo Passatore, a student of the school who tragically passed away.

Participants and Present Authorities

Present at the ceremony were Prefect Francesco Giovannucci, Questore Armando Zingales, Colonel of Carabinieri Gianfranco Scanu, commander of the provincial company, Captain Ernesto Petriello, commander of the Peschiera detachment, the newly elected mayor of Peschiera Bruno Dalla Pellegrina, and Senator Umberto Chincarini.

Speech by the Deputy Director and Message from the Chief of Police

After the greetings from the mayor, the deputy director of the school, Commissioner Giorgio D’Andrea, took the floor. He read a message from the Chief of Police Gianni De Gennaro: «Officers of the 51st course, today’s solemn oath you have sworn must serve to instill in you a strong sense of loyalty to democratic institutions and to serve the citizens. The training you received highlights the high professionalism that the Police School has been able to give you, and we are confident that you will uphold it with pride. Citizens hold trust and gratitude towards the police forces, and you must repay this with a high sense of duty».

Following this, the school director, Giuseppe Reccia, spoke: «I am proud to lead this school, from which chosen officers of the Polizia di Stato graduate. Thanks go to the instructors, who deserve recognition for patiently guiding the young students of the course. This work has been carried out with passion, silently, with a spirit of self-sacrifice, and the results are evident, as demonstrated by merit awards».

Awards and Diploma Conferrals

In the merit ranking, the first place and gold medal went to Francesco Sani, silver medal to Brizio Pugliese, and bronze medal to Andrea Moracci. The top scorer in the shooting test was Emanuele Morbidelli, in operational techniques Christian Pilat, and in personal defense Federico Buggini.

The officers who graduated from the Polizia di Peschiera school have already been engaged in various operations, and on June 6 and 7, they will be deployed to Verbania to provide security for the heads of state attending the G8 summit in Genoa.
