Ponale Viewing Point and Redevelopment Plans for Riva’s Waterfront

Belvedere is the viewing point on the exterior of the old Ponale, outside the first tunnel, enhanced by a red stone bench and a nostalgic pine tree.

In front of it stretch out Riva, its houses and bell towers, the Lido tip, the lakeside promenade, and Brione, the Busa all the way to Torbole, like a backdrop from a movie set.

Interventions and redevelopment projects

The municipality aims to restore its dignity and enhance the memories it holds; Tiziano Segattini, owner of the Excelsior, has willingly given up an ancient concession from Anas that reserved it exclusively for him.

The private owner also took steps to remove all the material he had deposited there in an authentically provisional manner. Anas, that is the province, has not: it continues to keep it cluttered, along with the adjacent road wreckage, with various materials.

The city council has urged Trento to transfer ownership. The rebirth of Ponale begins there.

In autumn, weather permitting, there are plans to work on embellishing the balcony overlooking the gulf.
