The Municipality of Pozzolengo has decided to appeal to the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) against the authorization granted by the Province of Brescia for the construction of a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant within its territory. This decision, announced by the local administration, aims to protect the area and the interests of the community while still supporting a sustainable energy future.

According to the Municipality, the choice to contest the authorization is not driven by opposition to renewable energies. Pozzolengo is actively promoting projects for the production of clean energy and has already initiated the process to establish a Renewable Energy Community (CER), allowing citizens to actively participate in the energy transition. However, the Administration emphasized the importance of carefully evaluating areas designated for photovoltaic plants, favoring alternative zones that do not interfere with agricultural heritage and the local landscape.

**Defense of Agricultural Land and Openness to Agrivoltaics**

One of the main reasons for opposing the project concerns the protection of agricultural land. Pozzolengo is a community with a strong agricultural tradition, and its land represents a fundamental resource for the local economy and the cultural identity of the area. The Municipality has expressed firm opposition to the allocation of agricultural land for the construction of ground-mounted photovoltaic plants, viewing this practice as a risk to the preservation of the rural landscape and agricultural activities.

Specifically, the Administration of Pozzolengo has stated its willingness to consider agrivoltaic projects, solutions that allow the installation of photovoltaic panels while enabling the continuation of the underlying crops. This technique involves raising the panels to a height sufficient to ensure ongoing agricultural activities, reconciling energy production with the safeguarding of agricultural land. However, this approach must meet strict requirements, including respect for the rights of the local community, protection of the landscape and tourism appeal, and preservation of the ecosystem.

**Community Support and the Prospect of a Sustainable Future**

The decision to appeal to the TAR is also supported by a significant portion of the population. Over 500 people have signed a petition expressing their opposition to the ground-mounted photovoltaic plant project, demonstrating the community’s interest in careful management of territorial resources. The Administration has reiterated its commitment to a sustainable future, both environmentally and socially, placing the well-being of the community and the protection of local traditions at the center of its political choices.

Pozzolengo thus looks favorably on the development of renewable energies but remains steadfast in asserting that every project must bring tangible benefits to the community and respect the peculiarities of the territory. The Municipality will continue to promote initiatives for clean energy while also committing to protect the landscape and agricultural heritage that constitute the heart of local life.
