Pozzolengo Hosts Climate Conference and Theatre Evening on Weather Phenomena

Pozzolengo was also positively involved in the «Mosaico Scienze» event, promoted by the Associazione Turistica Colline Moreniche del Garda. The town hosted an interesting conference-discussion on the theme “Climate Change in the Planetary System,” with Professor Antonio Navarro from the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia as the speaker. The presentation was delivered by Dr. Sciaretta, who introduced the topic concerning humans, the land, and the Earth’s crust.

The mayor Paolo Bellini opened the conference by recalling the tornado that devastated the town a year ago. “Unfortunately,” he concluded, “we must get used to coexisting with these phenomena.” The floor then went to Navarro, who explained the atmosphere with the help of a computer, focusing on the greenhouse effect. He stated that this is “not a negative phenomenon in itself,” but rather natural, related to the interaction between sunlight, Earth’s refraction, and the concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Conference on Climate and Weather Phenomena

Navarro explained that Italy lies on the edge of an atmospheric system; in summer, influenced by Africa, in winter, by Europe. However, a shift of just 500 kilometers in this balance can change everything. This situation, known as “frontier,” is one of the causes behind the extreme weather phenomena that have occurred in recent years in our country.

At the Sala delle Colonne in Ponti sul Mincio, an interesting theatrical evening took place. Truthfully, it was not a traditional show, but a monologue titled “Vino Dentro,” adapted from the novel by Fabio Marcotto, with theatrical adaptation by Antonio Caldonazzi and Massimo Cattaruzza. The highly applauded performance was by Cattaruzza himself.

Essentially, the plot is as follows: a bank clerk wakes up one morning and, instead of male attributes, believes he sees a bottle. From there, his entire odyssey begins, leading him to part ways with his wife, leave his job, all while observing, touching, and tasting wines from all Italian regions, eventually becoming a world-renowned expert. But is all of this reality or fantasy? The audience is left to solve the dilemma.
