Pozzolengo Pensioners Organize Volunteer Services for Elderly Assistance
Belle initiative of the Pensioners’ Association of Pozzolengo, which welcomed with great enthusiasm the invitation from the social services councilor of the municipality to promote and organize a volunteer service for the citizens of Pozzolengo in difficulty.
“Public facilities do not always manage to provide all the services that elderly people living alone and without means need,” writes President Bruno Croveglia in a letter to members. “Therefore, the councilor asks us pensioners to offer our availability, with a spirit of volunteering, undertaking to provide:”
– transportation for non-autonomous elderly individuals to medical and hospital facilities,
– payment of various bills: water, electricity, purchasing medicines, etc.,
– companionship for lonely people, security services at schools and on school buses.
These services will make people feel less lonely and provide them with greater safety and peace of mind, knowing that they can rely on us at any moment.”

Along with the letter, there is also an adhesion form in the envelope where those willing to volunteer must specify which service they are available for, how many hours, and at what times.
The president concludes: “By engaging in volunteering, we will feel still useful and better, convinced that we are doing good for those less fortunate than us.”
