The Municipality of Pozzolengo is preparing to host one of the most anticipated stages of the 107th Giro d’Italia. With the approach of the big event, scheduled for May 18, 2024, Mayor Paolo Bellini has issued Ordinance No. 11/2024, which establishes the Municipal Operational Center (C.O.C.) for Civil Protection to ensure safety and manage traffic during the day.
The 18th stage of the Giro d’Italia will see cyclists starting from Castiglione delle Stiviere and reaching Desenzano del Garda, passing through the streets of Pozzolengo. The importance of the event has led to the adoption of extraordinary measures: vehicular traffic will be prohibited from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, affecting a long stretch of local roads.
The measures adopted include the activation of the C.O.C., which will be located at the Local Police Command – Civil Protection Office in Via Gramsci No. 8. The Center will be operational throughout the day on May 18, coordinating volunteer services, traffic management, and other needs related to the sporting event.
The Municipality is committed to ensuring safety through the full coordination of civil protection actions and the integration of local activities with regional emergency systems. Extraordinary measures are also planned for traffic to minimize inconvenience to citizens.
In preparation for the event, all resources of the municipality have been activated, including volunteers from the Municipal Civil Protection Group, to effectively respond to public safety needs during emergency phases.
This event represents a significant moment for the community of Pozzolengo and a great opportunity for visibility. Local authorities invite residents and visitors to follow the provided instructions and stay informed through the official channels of the Municipality.
