Puegnago del Garda: New Photo Book Highlights Its History and Landscape

"A village nestled in the moraine amphitheater of Valtenesi, overlooking Lake Garda from a natural terrace immersed in greenery and bathed in sunlight": this is how the presentation begins, written by Mayor Gianfranco Comincioli, of the new volume freshly printed, dedicated to "Puegnago del Garda".

A predominantly photographic account, published by "La fotografica" in Piacenza, capable of highlighting the features, history, and folklore of this wonderful municipality of Valtenesi. Photographic pages, therefore, with essential historical insights, accompanying the reader on a pleasant journey through streets, squares, hills, nature, and, above all, villages and hamlets, in an appealing and engaging graphic layout.

Origins and Integration Between Volumes

Some of the texts are borrowed from a previous volume, also titled "Puegnago del Garda," written by Mosè Bertini, in which the written content takes precedence over the visual. In short, two volumes that do not cancel each other out but, in a way, complement each other, offering an extensive and comprehensive historical documentation.

In the volume, presented during the recent Fair, author Italo Carella aimed to guide both tourists and locals on a sort of walk, where everything that exists and can be encountered seems to have a story to tell.

Images and Thematic Insights

Therefore, panoramic images interspersed with vineyards, flowers, details, and often evocative images, such as one taken from inside and the upper floors of the recently restored bell tower, capable of creating inimitable sensations. Of course, there are also sections dedicated to religious buildings, often unknown to most.

An entire chapter is dedicated to agriculture and its products, such as grapes and wine, honey, olives and extra virgin olive oil, truffles, and flowers, like the magnificent lotus flower, which grows spontaneously and abundantly in the lakes of Sovenigo.

Invitation to Visit and Tourist Tools

In short, an invitation to explore the land of Puegnago, perhaps with the new volume in hand, to directly experience what Puegnago and its hills have to offer.

The volume’s texts are also translated into German, making it a useful informational tool for the many visitors from abroad who, during the summer months, love to discover not only Lake Garda but also its hinterland.
