Recognition of historical activities: Brescia and Lake Garda in the spotlight
The Region has recently awarded the title of historical activity to 591 new commercial, artisanal, and restaurant establishments that have been active for at least forty years in Lombardy. Of these, a remarkable 121 are located in the province of Brescia, including 35 shops supported by Confesercenti of Eastern Lombardy in their application process. This recognition is reserved for those businesses that have maintained their signage and product type unchanged for at least four decades, highlighting historical elements such as original furnishings and equipment. With this designation, the total number of historical activities in the Brescia area reaches 687.
The head of the Garda area for Confesercenti, Andrea Maggioni, emphasized the economic and cultural importance of these family-run businesses that have managed to withstand challenges over time without losing their identity. Several establishments on Lake Garda have been honored, including Pizzeria Carmelo in Desenzano del Garda and Ristorante Capriccio in Manerba del Garda. These businesses not only provide products and services but also represent a significant piece of the local collective memory, contributing to the tourist appeal of the area.
