Redevelopment of Piazza Corlo: impacts on traffic in Lonato del Garda

Lonato del Garda, revitalization of Piazza Corlo: “Phase 2” begins, how traffic will change in the city center. The revitalization works of Piazza Corlo, located in the heart of the historic center of Lonato del Garda, are progressing with the start of the southern phase of the project. So far, the interventions have primarily focused on the northern side of the square, where demolition and the installation of new paving have taken place, along with the renovation of parking areas. Mayor Roberto Tardani emphasized the importance of this construction site and assured that the Administration is open to dialogue with citizens and merchants to address issues related to the ongoing work. Additionally, the parking lot on Via dei Fanti has been reopened, and the possibility of nighttime access to the parking area at the I.I.S. is being considered to increase the availability of parking spaces.

Regarding the traffic in the historic center, significant changes have been implemented: vehicular traffic has been restored between Piazza Corlo and the streets of Regia Antica, Trento, and Trieste, while certain areas will see a ban on transit and parking until October 31. Furthermore, a one-way system has been reinstated between Via Fontanone and Piazza Corlo, and a two-way system has been established on Via dei Fanti. Lastly, restrictions have been put in place for vehicles exceeding 2.20 meters in height on some nearby streets. These changes aim to improve circulation during the ongoing works.
