Lonato del Garda has approved the redevelopment project for Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII during the municipal council meeting held on October 15. The intervention, valued at 200,000 euros, will be primarily financed through municipal funds and a regional contribution obtained via the “Commercial Districts 2022-2024” grant. The square, currently in a state of disrepair, covers approximately 4,300 m² and features green spaces and an amphitheater.
The project includes extraordinary maintenance aimed at enhancing the safety and functionality of the area. Among the planned works are the removal of pillars that obstruct vehicle access, the restoration of the pavement, the upgrading of the lighting, and the addition of public benches. Construction is set to begin in 2025 and is expected to be completed before summer, with the goal of providing the community with a livable space suitable for events and social activities.
