A heated debate has emerged in San Zeno di Montagna ahead of the referendum scheduled for June 8 and 9, following the municipal administration’s decision to relocate the polling stations to a decentralized area, specifically on Via Perare. This choice, justified by the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor as a means to avoid traffic congestion and preserve the visibility of monuments, has been contested by opposition councilors from the civic list “Insieme!”, who argue that this decision could limit voter turnout.

The minority representatives have denounced this maneuver as instrumental and contrary to the Law on the Regulation of Electoral Propaganda of 1956, which mandates that polling stations be placed in the most frequented areas. They have therefore urged the administration to reconsider its resolution and reposition the electoral displays to ensure greater visibility for the referendum event, emphasizing the importance of democratic participation for citizens.
