In Sirmione, the removal of approximately one hundred poplar trees at Punta Grò has been ordered, an intervention deemed crucial for the safety of both the trees and the citizens. This decision stemmed from a thorough technical assessment, which revealed serious structural issues in many of the trees, rendering them unstable and potentially hazardous. Using specialized tools such as the resistograph, experts identified internal damages that were not visible, thereby justifying the preventive action taken by the municipal administration.

The removal will only affect the trees that are genuinely compromised, with particular attention paid to respecting the environment and the surrounding landscape. At the conclusion of the intervention, new trees will be planted, including poplars, willows, oaks, plane trees, and maples, ensuring the continuity of greenery in the park. Furthermore, there are plans to address the dead trees present in San Vito Park, underscoring the importance of maintaining the arboreal heritage in safe and sustainable conditions for the future of the community.
