Significant developments are emerging regarding the municipal swimming pools in Desenzano, which have been closed since the end of 2023, with a potential reopening in 2027. In the coming months, a call for proposals is expected to be launched, pending a feasibility study commissioned to Piscine Castiglione, for a comprehensive intervention estimated at 12 million euros. Giovanni Maiolo, the councilor for Public Works, stated that the construction could begin in 2025 and be completed by 2027, while Piscine Castiglione, which has already completed projects for the Paris Olympics, will be the first to submit the study.
At the same time, there is mention of the candidacy of Gam Team, led by former world champion Giorgio Lamberti, who had offered his expertise for the revitalization of the facility. However, according to Maiolo, there has been no formal proposal from them, and there has been no feedback from the Municipal Administration regarding the preliminary study developed. The situation remains open as further developments on the pool renovation project are awaited.
