With the arrival of spring, the “G. E. Ghirardi” Botanical Garden in Toscolano Maderno reopens to the public, offering a unique opportunity to explore its extensive collection of medicinal plants and rare species. Located on Via Religione, the garden will be accessible from April 12 to October 12, with specific hours on Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This green space is managed by the Department of Sciences at the University of Milan and spans 10,000 square meters, also hosting native species and plants with significant active principles.
On the occasion of the reopening, Sunday, April 13 will feature three special initiatives dedicated to citrus fruits, a symbol of the Garda Riviera. Visitors can participate in “A Grumi,” a live drawing show; an experiential workshop for children titled “Citrus Aromas: I See Them, I Smell Them, I Touch Them”; and a guided tour called “From Macro to Microscopic,” led by Professor Gelsomina Fico. Admission to the event is free, promising a day filled with learning and fun in the heart of nature.
