The historic Forra road, known as the “most beautiful road in the world,” has reopened to traffic after 19 months of closure due to a landslide that occurred on December 16, 2023. Currently, the route is one-way uphill with a speed limit set at 30 km/h, allowing drivers to enjoy the breathtaking views offered by the hairpin turns carved into the rock. This road leads to the village of Pieve, famous for its “thrill terrace,” which provides a spectacular view of Lake Garda.
Visitors can take advantage of the reopening starting from August 2, 2025, and the weather forecast for the afternoon indicates clearer skies, making a trip along this iconic road an excellent alternative to the beach during uncertain weather days. Thus, the Forra not only serves as an important communication route but also offers a unique experience for all those wishing to explore the natural beauty of the area.
