Rescue Dogs in Salò and Guide Dogs: Beach Safety in Italy
In Salò, a day along the lakeside featured rescue dogs and guide dogs, highlighting the capabilities of these animals in ensuring beach safety in Italy. Five dogs from the Italian School of Rescue Dogs (SICS) participated in a joint exercise with the Coast Guard, demonstrating their skills in water rescue operations through emergency simulations. This activity was crucial in raising public awareness about the importance of their role. Additionally, the event included the presentation of a guide dog to a visually impaired woman, made possible by funds raised by the Lions Club “Clisis Brixia.” The club’s president emphasized that each guide dog represents a significant investment, costing around 12,500 euros. The gathering evoked applause and touching moments among those present, who were able to recognize the value of the work done by the dogs and their trainers, key figures in the local community.
