Rest Home Conversion in Brescia Aims to Build 53 Senior Housing Units
The old Rest Home, located adjacent to the hospital, was purchased for 12 billion and 50 million euros by Santo Galeazzi, and will be transformed into a residence.
The handover of the property is scheduled to occur by June 30, barring force majeure. The new owner leads a business enterprise with tens of billions in revenue and hundreds of employees, including both direct staff and subcontractors.
His companies operate across various sectors, from roadworks to sewage systems, from natural gas pipelines to aqueducts (primarily on public contracts), and range from traditional construction to the development of business and commercial centers.
He has built numerous projects: the “Rondinelle” in Roncadelle, the “Triangolo” in Mazzano, and the building on via Orzinuovi that houses the Camera di Commercio (Chamber of Commerce).
Structure and purposes of the project
The headquarters are located at 187 via della Volta in Brescia. Here are the companies “Atig Bresciana Costruzioni srl” and “Cb, Costruzioni Bresciane srl,” the jewels of the group, along with the financial company “Pegasus”.
In addition to covering the expenses of the new retirement home, the proceeds will enable the construction of the first 31 protected mini-accommodations in the Gasia area: 26 units of 46 square meters and 5 units of 55 square meters each.
Cost: four and a half billion euros. Three billion are provided by the board of directors, and one and a half billion by the municipality, which will donate the land on a surface rights basis for free: 7,646 square meters (one-third will be covered, 5,000 square meters will remain green).
The complete project, previously designed by architect Paolo Dabbeni, includes a total of 53 housing units, with garages and common areas, such as a dining room, lounge, large activity room, and a room for personal services.
There will be a pedestrian connection to via Montessori, making it closer to the “I Pini” social center and the Assisted Healthcare Residence.
