The Roads Sector of the Province of Brescia has outlined the intervention methods for restoring traffic along the SP9, which was affected by four landslides on September 9. Following discussions with local administrations and the evaluation of various project proposals, work will commence next week and will be divided into four zones corresponding to the most critical points of the landslides. The aim is to make the road passable in both directions, with work phases that will also allow for alternating one-way traffic.
The works will include significant consolidation and safety measures for the most severe landslides, through the installation of metal structures and debris-flow barriers. These measures are designed to ensure long-term stability of the unstable slopes, while minimizing the local geomorphological impact. The project will conclude with resurfacing and the installation of ditches for managing rainwater, along with new guardrails.
