The restoration of the 16th-century crucifix of Polpenazze has begun. This significant work of art, created by Gio Battista Lancino in 1598, was located in the local parish church. The initiative is being promoted by the Alpine Group of the community, who are concerned about the deteriorating condition of the artwork, which is at risk of collapsing completely. The Alpini have issued a call to the public to raise the necessary funds to cover the restoration costs, estimated at €19,000, emphasizing the importance of preserving this testament to the local culture for future generations.
To contribute to the recovery project, the community is invited to make donations via bank transfer or directly at a florist’s shop that supports the initiative. The crucifix represents not only an artistic value but also a fundamental part of the devotional identity of the area, and the organizers hope to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of caring for their history and culture.
