Revocation of firearm licenses in Brescia: security and controls intensified

In recent days, the Police Headquarters of Brescia has carried out a significant operation focused on firearm safety, resulting in the revocation of 44 firearm permits and the seizure of over 300 firearms. This initiative, which involved the Administrative Police Division, aimed primarily to ensure that firearm permit holders comply with legal requirements, such as psychological and physical fitness, as well as good conduct. Among the seized weapons are 212 rifles, 34 revolvers, and 57 semi-automatic pistols, along with machetes and sabers.

Inspections have been intensified over the past three months in anticipation of the hunting season, with a total of 56 warnings issued to individuals who had not submitted the mandatory medical certificate. Police Chief Paolo Sartori emphasized the importance of responsibility in firearm possession, highlighting that a weapon does not necessarily guarantee greater safety and requires strict adherence to existing regulations. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation to prevent potential risks associated with the misuse of firearms.
