The WWF is seeking volunteers to help preserve Monte Brione during the bike festival taking place in Riva del Garda from May 1 to 4. Activists from WWF Trentino have issued a call to ensure the protection of this natural area, known for its biodiversity and numerous orchids, which is threatened by the influx of cyclists. Unfortunately, in the past, the event has led to the creation of unauthorized new trails, harming the local ecosystem.
To address this situation, the WWF invites anyone interested to join the initiative for monitoring the routes frequented by bikers. Volunteers will be supported by experts and will work in collaboration with the local Forestry Carabinieri. Activities will be organized in shifts according to participants’ availability and only require suitable mountain clothing and a reflective vest. The meeting point is set for Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, at 9:45 AM at Porto San Nicolò.
