Riva del Garda and protective nets: intervention for the Sarca flood
Yesterday, in Riva del Garda, an operation was carried out to install protective nets at the mouth of the Sarca River, in response to weather forecasts predicting a potential flood of the Sarca. The initiative, requested by the relevant services of the Autonomous Province of Trento, involved the use of specialized personnel and equipment, including a new telescopic lift and a trailer with a drum for deploying over 400 meters of netting. This system aims to protect the lake’s waters from the tons of timber carried by the flood.
About ten volunteers, supported by the motorboat “C9,” actively participated in the installation of the nets and the closure of the river mouth. During these operations, the Circolo Vela Arco collaborated to ensure the safety of the intervention. Firefighters urged boaters not to interfere with the operations and to maintain a safe distance from the nets installed throughout the day today, Friday the 29th.
