A grand celebration marked the 100th birthday of Renzo Calliari on the morning of Tuesday, December 24, at the Residenza Il Molino in Dro. The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Riva del Garda, Silvia Betta, along with numerous friends and family members, including his son Nicola, a well-known music teacher. Calliari, a beloved and respected figure in the community, is recognized for his commitment to traditional music, particularly for his long-standing involvement with the city’s band and for revitalizing the band of Valletta dei liberi falchi.
During the celebration, Renzo enthusiastically received tributes, including a commemorative plaque from Mayor Cristina Santi. The festivities featured musical performances by the band conducted by Maestro Mario Lutterotti, as well as an improvisation on the saxophone by Calliari himself. With over eighty years dedicated to music and countless cultural initiatives behind him, Renzo Calliari continues to be a symbol of passion and dedication to the local music community.
