Riva del Garda: Firefighters Acquire New Emergency Equipment for Sarca Flooding. The Volunteer Fire Department has recently acquired advanced tools designed to effectively address hydraulic emergencies, such as those related to the release of large volumes of water from the Ponte Pià dam. This equipment includes a reel for 800 meters of netting, a trailer, and a telescopic lifter, which are essential for installing containment nets at the river’s mouth to prevent debris from entering the lake. The initiative has been supported by the Risk Prevention Service and the Unified Emergency Center of the Autonomous Province of Trento, with a total investment of approximately 180,000 euros.
Currently, the volunteers are completing training on the use of the new equipment, ensuring a quick and efficient response to critical situations. This enhancement of equipment represents an important step in the collaboration between the Civil Protection Department and the Provincial Federation of Volunteer Firefighters, aimed at improving public safety and protecting the surrounding environment.
