Riva del Garda inaugurates red bench against gender violence
A red bench has been inaugurated in Riva del Garda in memory of Alba Chiara Baroni, a symbolic initiative against gender violence. The event took place on September 5, attended by Alba Chiara’s mother, Loredana Magnoni, and her sister, Aurora, along with little Oliver. The bench was created by young participants in the inter-municipal project “Ci sto? Affare fatica!”, which involved the youth in the enhancement of the Òra park and the beach. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the issue of femicide and promote a culture of respect.
Deputy Mayor Barbara Angelini emphasized the importance of the meeting with Alba Chiara’s mother, highlighting that love should never become possession but rather a recognition of mutual freedom. During the week leading up to the inauguration, the young people also worked on other redevelopment projects in the area, helping to make public spaces more welcoming and meaningful.
