Riva del Garda, police honor for fire rescue. Officer Lorenzo Carlo Dobbo of the Alto Garda and Ledro Inter-Municipal Police Force was awarded an honor for special merits on January 20 during the 14th Trentino Local Police Day, held in Fiera di Primiero. The recognition comes after a heroic intervention that took place last September, when Dobbo rescued an elderly couple from a fire that broke out in their home in Riva del Garda. Neighbors raised the alarm after noticing smoke, and the officer managed to bring them to safety, preventing more serious consequences; the flames had originated from a pot left on the stove.
During the event, the report on the activities of the local police forces in Trentino for 2024 was also presented, highlighting that over 118,000 interventions were received and nearly 1,800 traffic accidents were recorded. The reason for the honor awarded to Dobbo emphasizes his “commendable operational ability” and strong sense of duty, demonstrating great professionalism and readiness in saving human lives.
