Silvia Gottardi, a 46-year-old cycling traveler from Riva del Garda, has embarked on a 1,400 km journey by bike to promote sustainable mobility in conjunction with the National Energy Saving Day, celebrated on February 16. She set off on February 6 from Valencia and will be passing through several locations, including Barcelona, Girona, and Genoa, before arriving in Bologna on Wednesday. Equipped with GIVI-Bike bags, Silvia aims to raise public awareness about the vulnerability of European territories in the face of the climate crisis, symbolically connecting two cities recently affected by floods.
During her journey, Silvia will make daily connections with the Caterpillar program on Rai Radio2, sharing her experiences and encounters with communities engaged in environmental sustainability. Her bicycle is outfitted with specific bikepacking gear, chosen to ensure lightness and functionality. Through this initiative, Gottardi not only promotes an eco-sustainable lifestyle but also demonstrates how individual actions can contribute to a collective shift towards more responsible mobility.
