Riva Focuses on Historic Center Issues While Arco Calls for Dialogue
Cad. “The Riva administrators pay more attention to the problems of the historic center merchants than those of Arco. This is demonstrated by the fact that since last May 24th, Assocentro has been waiting for a meeting with the Veronesi administration to discuss the needs of the category. The shopkeepers of Arco demand the same treatment as their colleagues in Benacus.”
Criticisms and Requests for Dialogue
Criticizing the executive for alleged immobilism during the municipal council the other evening, Matteo Tamanini of Lega Nord spoke out. The young pharmacist has been part of the Assocentro board for a few days. An additional reason to defend the unheeded expectations of the Arco shopkeepers in the town hall.
“In Riva, you can arrive in the historic center by car until 1 p.m., in Arco not,” – Tamanini specified during the council – “despite the greater parking difficulties here and, moreover, it being much farther away than the nearby city. How do we handle this? Do we continue to worsen the situation?”
Projects and Perspectives
At the end of the session, the Lega representative commented on his intervention, clarifying that in Riva, the large underground parking lot near the center is in the rollout phase. Nothing has started yet in Arco, not even in planning. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a dialogue with the administrators to develop concrete programs within a defined timeline.
“Assocentro has already demonstrated its commitment,” – concluded Tamanini – “with successful initiatives such as Arcofiori and the Christmas market.”
