Riva Hoteliers Urged to Beautify with Cost-Effective Flower Decor
“Hoteliers, put more flowers on the balconies. With a small amount of money, you can have a ‘lady’ flower box like mine and add some color to Riva.” This is the proposal from Giovanni Dossi, the well-known merchant from Riva, owner of the bathroom and ceramics shop on Viale Trento, who knows his way around petals.
Driving along the stradone Arco-Riva, it’s practically impossible not to notice the geraniums decorating the terrace of his shop: a real eye-catcher in an area that, to be honest, is somewhat neglected; and for him, an example to follow.
“Is it possible that hoteliers don’t realize that even a hundred meters of flower pots, thanks to modern irrigation and fertilization systems, doesn’t require that much effort? I, for example, spend no more than a quarter of an hour a day taking care of my geraniums,” he says, proudly observing the pots that span the entire length of the terrace.
Automatic systems and aesthetic benefits
Furthermore, there are fully automatic systems that further reduce human intervention.” The hotel owners should be the first to care about the aesthetics of a tourist destination like Riva,” continues the merchant, “and what better way to beautify a building’s façade than by decorating the terraces with flowers?” Moreover, the cost is more than affordable.
“With one and a half to two million Lire, you can purchase a system that allows many plants to be displayed on balconies without needing to dedicate too much staff, helping to give the city a more cheerful appearance.” The only precaution is to rely on a reputable plant company that also handles irrigation systems and pest protection.
Because, “once the flowers are healthy, they require little care.” There are no excuses now; caring for plants today is simple, and Dossi’s call is clear:
“Make an investment that, with a small expense, contributes significantly to improving the appearance of Riva.” We hope this invitation doesn’t fall on deaf ears.
