Riva Lakeside Promenade Overgrown and Untidy, Officials Call for Action

The lakeside promenade D’Annunzio’s condition is not exactly a good first impression for many of the tourists arriving in Riva: tall weeds everywhere, thick overgrown bushes making walking difficult, and, to top it off, a trash can so overflowing that waste is now scattered almost everywhere.

A rather unflattering picture to behold, which can be seen just by taking a stroll along the lakeside promenade D’Annunzio, entering the walkway leading to the Red House, and reaching near the hydrofoil dock.

Reports and Initiatives

The situation has been reported by Vincenzo Ceschini, Councilor of La Margherita, who, just a few weeks ago, submitted an inquiry to the city council regarding this issue, requesting greater and more consistent attention to that area.

«Since then, the situation has remained unchanged – explains Ceschini – and therefore, given the ineffectiveness of that document, I decided to try another approach: reporting the problem directly to the press.

Perhaps, this way, the company contracted for cleaning the area and those responsible for overseeing that it actually performs this task will take action to remedy this shameful situation.

It is pointless, indeed, to complain about the decline in tourism: even these small things are important for visitors on vacation here.
