Riva Mayor Receives Praise for Museum and Historical Exhibits Improvement

RIVA. To criticism, someone who is a mayor is used to it. Compliments, on the other hand, are always welcome. Here is the letter received by Cesare Malossini: “Dear Mr. Mayor, I am an old Rivano who emigrated to Turin almost half a century ago: we met last summer right in Piazza 3 Novembre in front of your Municipality, while we were watching the closing of the street show for the Martyrs of June 28, 1944. Today I am writing to you about a different matter.

Few days ago, I was in Riva and went to the museum to see the portrait exhibition, so I took the opportunity to go upstairs and was able to admire (this is the right verb) the beautiful display of archaeological finds preserved by the Rivano museum and the intelligent and competent exhibition on some aspects of Rivano history.

Suggestions on the reorganization and display of historical materials

I wanted to share these impressions with you and congratulate your administration, which certainly promoted and encouraged this. Finally, I take the opportunity to point out the interest, for Rivano residents but not only for them, that the reorganization and display of the large quantity of local historical materials from the 19th and 20th centuries preserved in the museum could have: and – in my opinion – this exhibition could bring much more material preserved in the homes of old Rivano families to the museum.
