Riva Tower to Reopen with Panoramic Views by Summer

The provincial inspection commission visits Riva in full force every time there’s a fair to issue the clearance. The same identical procedure must be repeated at each appointment until the program has definitively sanctioned that this is a commercial area and that is a fair-building.

However, the other day one of the commission’s technicians was diverted to Torre Apponale for an inspection with the assessor Matteotti aimed at the public opening. The possibility of a view from above over the urban agglomerate, the plain up to the Arco castle and the lake, should represent a focal point of the tourist offer.

Panoramic views and condition of the tower

Riva is perhaps the only tourist city of a certain stature that does not offer a viewpoint to its guests. The possibility of climbing Torre Apponale should have been offered in conjunction with the ticket for entry to the civic museum of the Rocca, whose northwest tower will also become accessible.

In past years, when the restoration of the city tower was carried out, access for the public was loudly promised several times. Now, with the restoration complete, the tower has been closed for years in complete silence. The provincial technician has suggested some touch-ups, the most important of which involves a fireproof treatment of the wooden staircase to prevent possible accidents.

By the summer, from a technical perspective, the tower will be accessible. It is sufficient to operationally approve the possibility of the panoramic visit.
